Domaine Montrose

Domaine Montrose is an iconic southern French winery. The estate, which has been established since 1701 is situated on the side of a volcano, with the native lizards forming a crest in 1701 for the proprietor, Joseph Alazard. It has remained ever since. The name Montrose can be broken down as Mont, or Mountain and rose, which comes from the pink coloured flowers from almond trees covering the vineyard. It’s a carbon neutral, organic ecosystem off-setting all emissions using wind farms and the continual planting of olive and almond trees. A typical Povençal style wine. Beautifully pale in colour, with hints of strawberries and cream, raspberries and cranberries and lemon peel.
