Artisan Cheese and English Wines for St. Georges Day by Goldford Wines.

So, join us at The Cheese Shop Nantwich to celebrate St Georges Day and for an informal tasting and imaginative evening of English Artisan cheese and some of the best of English wines available.

Indulge in a night of some of the finest English wines supplied by our local partner Sommeliers from Goldford Wine.  The Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Seyval Blanc and Pinot Gris vines were planted by the Smith family from 2018 on South and South east facing slopes of Maiden Castle, Bickerton, Cheshire. The vines were selected to reflect the cool wine climate of Cheshire. Being planted on Cheshire’s famous Sandstone Trail ensures that the bedrock is sandstone which provides excellent drainage for the vines.

Nick will explain the provenance and production of the English Artisan Cheese which he has especially selected to pair with the wine.

On arrival, enjoy a glass of fizz as you view our cheese theatre before moving upstairs to our tasting room.

Cheeses are served with a presentation of their history, style, production method and taste. The Sommelier will discuss the pairing and how to match wine with cheese.

The start time is 7pm and will run for approximately 150 minutes.
