Fromagerie Beillevaire’s commitment to artisan cheesemaking is grounded in its history and informs its present. Pascal Beillevaire, who set up the fromagerie in the Loire-Atlantique region in 1980, was a former dairy farmer and today the company is still dedicated to working closely with farmhouse cheesemakers. Roche Montagne (literally ‘Rock Mountain’) is an easy-going cow’s milk blue from the Puy-de-Dôme in central France that is smooth and unctuous.

Roche Montagne is a mild and very soft blue from the mountainous Auvergne region. Being a soft cheese it is unfortunately unsuitable for pregnant ladies and vegetarians since animal rennet is used in its manufacture.
